Well I'm already a day behind but don't you kind of take January 1st as a holiday and a day off? Well I do and to be honest, I am a little bit of a procrastinator. I wonder if that should be a New Year's resolution? Hmmm. I will think about that tomorrow! As Scarlett says, "tomorrow is another day".
So back to the title of this post: Celebrate! I am working on a year long photo challenge. It serves several purposes. It keeps my camera going even when I am not working therefore improving my skill and my "eye". It is thought provoking. It's a conversation starter. And it also provides something to blog about! If any one of you want to join me, here's the link:
Haven't figured out if it's possible yet, but I would love to see some of your photos if you can attach them to your comments or just send them to me. I will post some here and give you photo cred. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to see your celebrations!
So, the photo challenge for January 1 was "Celebrate!". On January 1st, my husband and I went out onto the lake and went fishing. Well, he was fishing. I had two bags full of cameras and electronics. For us, getting the day off and getting to be together all day with no obligations is a celebration in itself. Being able to be out on the lake in the middle of winter is cause for celebration too! For me, any time I see sunshine is a huge CELEBRATION!
As we were fishing, we apparently hit a HOT SPOT and the "fish was on"! This photo was the first one of the streak and if you are a fisher person or you love a fisher person, you know and recognize the sheer joy and excitement and celebration that comes with the catch!
I couldn't resist this as my photo for "Celebrate"! It's a great example of celebrating a moment! As the new year starts, let's all try to Celebrate! Celebrate big things and little things! Celebrate each day you are on the top side of the grass and live in the moment!
Let's chat tomorrow!
